The conventional wisdom is that you're better off rewriting a Fox 2.x app in VFP than you are trying to convert it directly. This isn't necessarily as big an effort as it sounds. For one thing, VFP 6.0 comes with an Application Wizard which you may find helpful in building the framework for your application. Your 2.5 data should come across just fine, and you can use your 2.5 forms, menus and reports as the specification for the corresponding ones you'll create in VFP.

The biggest conceptual hurdle in moving from FoxPro 2.x (DOS or Windows) to VFP is the change from a procedural mindset to an object-oriented mindset. The VFP application wizard should give you a boost toward getting a working application up and going without having to worry a great deal about these conceptual differences at first. Still, you would probably find it helpful to have a copy of the Visual FoxPro 6.0 Programmer's Guide to use as a reference.

At one time there was a CD from Microsoft called something like the "Visual FoxPro Migration CD" which contained several references about migrating applications from FoxPro 2.x to VFP. I don't know if it's still available, but if you're interested let me know and I'll see what I can find out for you.
