Hi Word gurus,

I have a question about pictures and Word 2000. I have set up WORD as an automation server while in FoxPro. I load a one record datatable with everything I want WORD to know about a patient and then through ODBC I allow WORD to have access to the datatable's fields for mailmerge. That works great and my users really like the ability to use WORD from within my app. Here is the rub. I have placed a picture in the document as a place holder for insertion of a different picutre at runtime. The place holder picture is LINKED to a file called C:WINDOWS\TEMP\PHOTO1.JPG. Right before I intantiate WORD I rename the patient's picture from it's real file name to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\PHOTO1.JPG. Voila.. The patient's photo is in the document. But there is one problem. The patient's photo has taken on the aspect ratio of the place holding photo. In summary the patient's picture and the frame are different sizes. In FoxPro we have three settings for pictures on documents when the picture and frame are different sizes. They are 1)Clip picutre, 2)Scale picture and retain shape and 3)Scale picture to fill the frame. The second setting (Scale and retain) works great for my situation. Is there a way to do this or simulate this is word? Does anyone who works with VBA have a solution. Perhaps I could reset the height and width of the place holders picture at runtime, under automation, to match my patient's photo's aspect ratio. I have the ability to calulate my patient's photo aspect ratio before I store it to c:\WINDOWS\TEMP\PHOTO1.JPG

THANX
