Drawing grids does not work well in VFP reports. Horizontal lines are fine, but vertical ones are difficult. Sometimes making a vertical bar slightly taller than a report bar will make it print without gaps.
If your users have Excel, have you considered using OLE automation to drive Excel directly to create your reports?
