CNS make an excellent system called the Intercom System - it allows you to send a login message to the server and when the machine disconnects (or the app finishes and the ooject goes out of scope, the server is alos notified). I used the technique to implement a login server (that limits the number of concurrent users) and described it in detail (with code examples etc) in a FoxTalk article last year. >Thanks for the detail. I will look through the code ans see if we can use this type of strategy. What I have determined is that I dont think I can catch all of the cases where the application is not reporting properly. But I am closer today than I was yesterday.
