I'm assuming that, like me, you're referring to the country "South Africa", not the southern part of Africa in general. My understanding is that South Africa is the "economic powerhouse" of Africa overall and has a considerably higher GDP per capita than Egypt. I imagine there are many more cars in South Africa than in Egypt.
