You can't. I don't know of anyway for VFP to detect any event outside of its bounds. You should be able to use lostfocus to tell you that your VFP application no longer has focus or gotfocus to say that focus has returned but as far as actually detecting a keystroke in another application I don't hae a clue. Perhaps if you let me know what you are trying to accomplish or someone else might have some ideas... Good Luck
