Gee, Andy. How long would it take you to make a few color changes to your app-level subclasses of the base classes? Might make life a little easier, instead of carrying on a war with your boss.

For most of us, part of the job is technical and part of it is "public relations", or meeting the "perceived needs" of the people we're working for. It's a balancing act for sure, but probably not worth an ongoing fight with the boss unless you really want to leave :-)
