>Sorry the msg wasn't very clear. I mean an independant wizard without using Crystal Reports at all. VFP stores all it's reports formats as a dbf file. One could give the user a pre-defined set of views. Depending on the the view they choose, they could then select the fields, order and set some criterea. A report file could then be generated. The report can then printed out or exported. The advantage of such a scheme is that it would be very user friendly and easy to use. The disadavatage is that it is not that flexible as a full blown report generator.
I already do that to some degree too. The ultimate extension I have added by user demand, as I mentioned, is to add an "Export to Excel" functionality to many forms with grids displaying some fields. The users select the fields (which may include more than what the grid shows) and criteria, then the data is moved to Excel, where they can save it and do whatever they wish. Once it's in Excel, the data is more flexible, and can be moved to Word tables, for example, for even more report flexibility. Very popular here now...
