Thanks Jess, I wasn't specific, but that's what I meant when I wrote:

But my client would like to use his mouse to drag and select multiple entries...I'll probably have to go with the checkbox in the grid. J

You can add a field with logical type then make that as your controlsource in one of the column of the grid with checkbox control instead of textbox. The checkbox control will then be your basis on which records are selected in the grid. This is one way of achieving your desired functionality.
