Just reading over this thread - these services are indeed becoming quite popular at eBay, for example. Another one is called "Billpoint." However, there are a couple of problems associtated with these businesses that've been much discussed at eBay recently:

1) A *lot* of technical glitches.There's a link at eBay just full of complaints :)
2) Apparently none of these businesses are insured, like FDIC. If they go belly up, there's a good chance all money in their hands will be lost.
3) They are not easily available to most non-US or Canadian citizens yet.

That said, most of us agree that these services are the wave of the future...
