A couple of recent questions in this category got me to looking around at some old code I had. This code allowed you to get and set the three date/time stamps of a file. In reviewing it, I also noted that it did contain some other features. It could also be used to retrieve the current UTC time, and there was a function to get the actual dates of the start and end of daylight savings time. Due to the design, there is also a class that open and close files, named pipes, serials ports, etc.

One of the reasons that I hestiate to just upload it is the Windows Script host. Since this is available, it is much easier and efficient to use it rather than all the code necessary to do this via the API. If, however, like Cetin, you're interested in some aspect that the WSH doesn't address (getting milliseconds, or setting the date/time stamp), then it does have some utility for you.

I will need to do some work on the code to take advantage of some of the features found in VFP 6.0 (it was written under 5.0). It will, however, run under both versions. I'll also need to write up some documentation.

Before doing this, however, I'd like to know if there's any interest in my uploading it to the files section. If anyone is, please post back. I'd also ask that if you're interested, please do not email me requesting it. That will only serve to delay my getting it uploaded.
George
