I'm interfacing with a third-party product via its automation server. One of its methods defines a variant data type for its third parameter. It states that the valid variant type to use is a 2 byte integer corresponding to the "Short data type in C++". Sending it a VFP numeric data type generates an error "parameter type not supported".

I've been back and forth with the product's support staff, but to no avail. Their bottom line was to use the variant data type. (And, then they proceeded to wash their hands.)

Anyway, can anyone tell me how I can send it a short integer data type from VFP?
