>>When I read through different threads it seems that many users complain about speed problems. This concersn me about the efficiency of the code.

>>Thank you for helping me understand this. I really want to find out the pitfalls of the framework before I commit to a HUGE application to begin developing with it.

>I am not sure which threads you are refering to concerning speed problems, but I do believe they are framework related. I have been working with Mere Mortals for more than 2 years and I am constantly amazed at the careful thought and foresight designed into the framework. In the last release alone, the Security upgrade probably saved me a few months of work. Very efficient because of sound OOP implementation.

>Updates are available through the web site (www.oakleafsd.com) for minor fixes. The framework has recently switched to an annual upgrade policy. All registered users are notified by e-mail and you need a password to download.

>As for the pitfalls, I think Paul said it best, there is a learning curve. Or maybe that is a learning circle? Since whenever I think I have it all figured out, I keep coming around and learning something new. If you are serious about using Mere Mortals, I HIGHLY recommend the training class. You will learn an incredible amount in one week with Kevin and I guarantee you will walk away very impressed.

>Also, in my current project I am using SQL 7.0 as a backend with the framework. It is going very well and the product is in beta testing. Performance is very good and I am currently using SQL stored procedures to generate the unique ids. If you need the code, I can e-mail to you.

If you could email me information about generating unique ids in SQL 7.0 I would greatly appreciate it. My email address is cgero@disyscorp.com

Thank you in advance.
