Oh okay, what I'm trying to do is several things at the same time. Here is a description of behavior.

I have a temporary work file that is associated with the grid. It is created from a main file. I want the form caption and a textbox to re-populate when the user repositions the temporary record. The re-positioning can occur in many different ways.

1) The user types in a text search box
2) The user uses up and down keys to reposition or
3) (The culprit) The user clicks on a record in the grid box.

What happens is, when the timer action fires, it sets the caption. The caption is set using whatever our temporary file is currently pointing to. When I first click on a record in the grid, the timer action doesn't fire OR now that I think about it, the record may not be re-positioning the very first time. I hope this isn't too confusing. Sometimes it's hard to type what your thinking. Thanks again.
