>>But ya didn't mention the WSH< g >. Bret, what's it gonna take to get ya on-board?
>I am ordering the book this week you referenced in a thread. I am studying the help Files that I have with MSDN. I am experimenting with a few WSH solutions for my next version. The wooly mammoth wont die quickly you know, every once in awhile someone will dig up a part and then the cloning begins. But I have been impressed by what I have seen and done so far.
Bret,
I hope you don't mind my using your reply as a soapbox. This isn't so much for you as it is for anyone lurking out there...

As most of you know, I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to monkeying around with the API. Three of the articles that I've had published in FoxPro Advisor have dealt with it. Further, I've got a number of files here that do various things with the API either directly from Fox or through a DLL.
Some of this stuff can be accomplished via the WSH with less code, less maintainance and a lot less potential problems. In short, I recommend it, where applicable, over my own stuff that's been published and is available here.
So to sum up, it's out there, it's very useful, it takes only a little effort to learn, and make your life easier. Sure, you won't have whiter, brighter teeth, or anything like that, but when compared with the additional overhead of mucking about with some of this stuff, it might seem that way< bg >.
