I think you are making a big deal out of something that in reality, is not a big deal. It is a matter of communication. The only bad thing is is having something occur that the user does not expect. If the users know and understand how the app behaves, you are fine.

Based on your logic, I suppose you would not advocate the integration of Excel, and the use of the Excel interface, since that too would be quite different than the VFP application interface...
