Yes, but traffic lights do not have WORDS on them, they are symbols that have been standardized, and we already have the ability to do command buttons with symbols (.BMPs, .ICOs, etc.)

Just because one CAN change something, doesn't mean that one SHOULD change it. But yes, I do agree the freedom to change it should be allowed, as there are ALWAYS special circumstances where that might be a better/more simple solution. It probably would get abused, though, like your pink/purple? example.
