>We are currently developing a client/server app using a VFP database as a back end. When we release the product, we would like to bundle a database with it for our customers. We are trying to decide which database to use. Currently, the race is between SQL Server 7, Oracle, and Sybase in that order. Any thoughts on pros and cons concerning any of these and/or others would be greatly appreciated.

I had one VFP/Sybase 11 app and there were problems with the ODBC drivers. None of 3 drivers we tried was working perfectly - one fails in one situation another one does that, but fails in something else. So, my impression was that VFP and Sybase do not come along quite well. At the same time there were no any problems with the same app and SQL Anywhere database and ODBC driver.
