OK..first, we have our values saved in a table called ID (we are using codebook), so I am sure that "00000a" is the next value. I have a free table with the same structure (without the cid field) that contains some data that I am trying to convert into this file. I zap this file before I start, then use scan and replace to process it. So I am sure that it is empty when I start.

Second, the index is set as CID "PRIMARY" and the expression is "CID"

Third, since I open this table exclusive before I zap it, it shouldn't have any records in it.

We process many files like this, I am at a loss.
