Tim, I have worked around this problem by using the RTF edit control in a very dumbed down way. It works fine for me. As I recall, you need to set a property that controls the right margin in order to specify where wordwrap actually occurs, but this is independent of the visible width of the text area. You can set the right margin to a huge number to effectively turn off wordwrap and use the HScrollbar to slide back and forth (like notepad does if you turn off wordwrap).
