>Nowadays the real time clock (RTC) is often a small black plastic rectangular box, often with a brand name and the initials "RTC" somewhere on it. It doesn't look much like any sort of traditional battery. It should be socketed into the motherboard so you can replace it. Make sure you get the same make/model (or a listed equivalent) for correct voltage, pinout, etc.
