FWIW I have noticed this too (I thought it was just me). It doesn't happen all of the time, but when it does its really annoying. I have even posted before, and had nothing show here.

Come to think of it, I had one post just the person's auto quoted text. I think I see a pattern here.

It may be that when hitting the back button, the browser gives you a cached copy of what was there at the beginning of your edit (this would seem like a blank page if no auto quote).

I know this happened at work, and possibly here at home. At both places, I am using IE5 (I don't have the service pack info for my work browser, here I think I am just running the version that shipped with VS SP3, I haven't bothered to update, because this machine is due to stand down tomorrow).
