Hi Tamar,

>In fact, ergonomics is a big issue. I spent serious dollars a couple of years ago for furniture and then had a good friend who is a physical therapist help me configure it right. Major issues include having elbows sit on arm rests at the right height as well as having wrists supported.

Boy I envy you that furniture! Is there a name brand on it that you know of?

I have a similar problem, I get bad tendonitis in my hands & arms when the PA weather gets cold and damp (like now). Doctors originally treated it as CT for 3 months so I can relate to your dislike for mouse-intensive stuff. Fortunately for me though, I can usually prevent pain/stiffness without medical treatment... that is if I remember to do my stretches & exercises when the weather is ugly. Thing that never fails to get the problem to flare up is sitting with my elbows to low, a seemingly simple thing related to one's posture that make the difference between 6 billable hours and 10 on a rainy day.

>I've found through experience that I can type (Natural keyboard) pretty much all day without a problem, but when I switch back and forth from keyboard to mouse or just live on the mouse, my right hand gets quite sore because it doesn't get the support it needs.

Same here, the mouse bothers me more than a keyboard but only if it's a repetitive back-n-forth motion for many hours in one sitting postion. What I find really helps me is to switch between a touch pad and a mouse every couple hours when my hands bother me. Somehow it seems for me it's not so much one single position over another but rather lack of movement... as long I adjust how I sit (angle of keyboard, mouse vs. touch pad, height of chair, etc.) every 2-3 hours. I would imagine this a much better scenario than what you suffer through with CT, but I'm interested in what sort of furniture your using but some days its really hard for a geek like me to remember to adjust position, stand up & stretch, & whatnot :)
