I think here we could say that the expression of the problem is bad. < g >But I do know what you mean. Personally, I think that asking questions correctly is almost as difficult as providing an answer. Too little information, and you can't nail down the root cause. Too much, and the real cause might get lost in all the details.
JimB and Steve Sawyer had an appendix in "Effective Techniques..." on debugging techniques that's worth reading. While I'm on the subject, first let me say that the appendices in the book are must reading. I don't know why they weren't full blown chapters in it. Second, my only disappointment with it is really connected to the CHM file. The appendices aren't included.:-(
