The last time I tried something like that I was testing a web app running on a client's dialup machine, using their currently-connected IP. It worked fine until the ISP did their auto-disconnect routine and I ended up hitting someone else's computer at the same IP.

Got a nice hot email from Mindspring a few days later threatening to cancel *my* dialup account due to "hacking" another user's system. I explained what happened and promised to be good in the future, and they let me stay.
