We did with ODBC. Here is the step (by memory)
-First our table was VFP so we did Upsizing to Oracle
-Create ODBC via Control Panel
-Create a Remote view in VFP
When you create your view be sure to check the right items in the update criteria.
-You do an append from your table into your view
-And then you use TableUpdate(.T.) / TableRevert()

We did with 300 000 records and it was not slow.
