1. Take a look at Citrix Metaframe.
2. If Citrix is not an option:
a. Install the exe on each workstation
b. Have the users run a loader program, which check the version of the exe on the workstation against the one on the server. If the one on the server is newer, download it to the workstation and run it.
c. Limit the amount of data going across the wire using views, but be wary. I think that with views, the entire index comes across the wire. Maybe someone else can jump in here?
