I use WWWC. I have never heard anyone say that they switched FROM WC to another product.
FWIW, I would discard any idea you have of "porting" a 2.6 app. If you're business logic is self-contained and well designed, then you will be able to use a lot of it, but "porting" to the web is not realistic. Desktop and Internet apps just work too differently.
Web connection gets you up and running pretty quickly though, and after you get past the initial learning curve and begin to think "stateless" you will be writing code like its old news.
