Any one know what database/table would be best to use with Visual Basic. I've considered Access & FoxPro. I'm not so sure if Access can handle large database transactions. I prefer to FoxPro especially since it comes with the Studio package. I also prefer to use ADO technology to access the file... my only problem is with the ODBC drivers. They do not support alot of crucial database features which I desparately need (ie. Index & Seek). I have a transaction file which increases by 100,000 records per month. Opening this file as a recordset takes 13-15 seconds depending on the machine.

Can anybody recommend a database/table which I could use that will speed up loading of files as well as finding specific records.

VFP came with the VStudio Pack just like VB. How come Access is the native database of VB and not VFP?
