>>>I'm in the process of upgrading to a new PC. It's a P6-200 running WIN95b with fat16 (32k cluster size). I have been unable to duplicate the problem I'm having on another new machine with simmilar hardware. FoxPro seems to be fine until I try to use Filer at which point I get 'Insufficient Memory' error. I get the error even when FoxPro is the only thing running. Any suggestions as to what might be causing the problem would be appreciated.

It seems without this command, FPW 2.6 will try to grab all of available memory. When this happens, any call to a function that requires additional memory (some API calls require system memory when called, and cannot use the memory that foxpro has assigned itself) will fail because there is none available. MEMLIMIT leaves the system with some memory resources. You might try something like MEMLIMIT = 50, 4096, 8192

>Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and unfortunately it didn't help. From what I've read in some of the other replies it looks like I'm going to also experience some other problems. I may need to rethink this upgrade. I did try running a Fox 2.6 program that prints and I got the printer not ready error message, the program ran fine on my P5-100. I really haven't tried to run any of my apps on the new PC but it looks like I'm going to experience some problems. If you have any other suggestions I would welcome them. Thanks again.

When you get the printer error, does anything go to the printer? I know that FPW and FPD have problems printing in a WIN95 environment, although it doesn't always have to do with the power of the computer. Try adjusting your timeout settings on your printer port.
