PMFJI, but that is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. The rag/mag has not realy changed in the last 10 years. Many have said it's dead from the neck up. I agree. I am going to the NO DevCon because it's not a FPA event.

I think that the editors should be monitoring what is here, cis and msnews just to get ideas and then farm those ideas out to talented writers. What you are suggesting is a volunteer organization much like our FPUG. Difference is that we don't charge for attendance. FPA is a business and they like others have to map out a plan, alter the plan and do a plan to acutal wrap up to see if their objectives were met.

They fail in all of those IMHO.

Why? Attitude and pollitics comes to mind. Don't fix it if ain't broke seems to be the mission statement as best as I can make out.

Like JVP attempted, this is only directed at the top of the heap. Those of you who have jumped in over the past year I have missed because I let my subscription retire. I can vote with my $, and I look forward to CoDe as some fresh meat with a new attitude.

Could they change things around? Hell yeah. Will they? Someone will have to tell me in a year. Because JVP left I tend to doubt it by his voiced frustration in "new ideas" and FPA.

>I would also like to remind everyone here that the content of these magazines comes almost exclusively from members of the developer community. If you want to see more of something in print, and you know enough to write an article do it. If you want to more of something you don't know about, let the magazines know. For the most part, the editorial staff of these magazines attempts to follow trends in development, and choose articles that will cater to the public interest as they perceive it. It is up to us as developers to make the trends known, and provide content when we can.
