I see English (well, the Americanized version anyway) as being more eclectic than almost anything else. And the collector (whomever he or she may be) has a very odd sense of humor. *g*
Wouldn't it be more precise to suggest that while English has the capacity to make precise definitions that there are precious few who are able to use the language for such a purpose?
