John,
>Yes, to say the VFP team is "working on it" is very much an over-statement...
I can understand your concern, if you have first-hand knowledge that:
-the team is not working on it
-they never tried to work on it
-they have given up on the idea
Of course, I understand that if you do have such first-hand knowledge, you cannot say so publicly. Therefore we are left with Robert's official statement that they "will do what we can". If it was already a dead issue, why didn't Robert just say, "VFP will not get Web Forms capability." or "We tried our best, but it cannot technically be done"?
I agree that Web Services is a much better fit for VFP, and stated that in my post. I also qualified my statement about Web Forms with the fact that Robert said that they could not promise that they would be successful. Sounds pretty accurate to me.
Robert, Randy and Ricardo have all been here many times since Feb 15, and none of them corrected or challenged my statement, publicly or privately. I welcome their input to further clarify the real situation. Until that happens, I will remain hopeful and cautiously optimistic.
