>IMHO, the message JVP started about the April 2000 issue of FP was technically correct. However, that thread went downhill from there. No one really argued the validity of John's points.

I have to agree with this. Problem is the natural reaction to JVP's brutal honest tends to be loaded with personal bias. Even though I dont personally see that bias towards JVP myself, I can understand why others seem to get so bent out of shape over the recent topics. I just wish folks would start pointing out why they have a problem with one particular statement or post as opposed to going into auto-defense counter attack mode the first chance they get. Pointing out a personal bias in someone's message could go a long way towards bettering the situation, where as all this counter attack mud slinging does nothing but make negative personal opinions intended as a counter attack seem more like the problem of the person making the counter attack.

Bravo Mark, very well said.

And FWIW - I have always felt, and even more so now, that being a Sysop up here is a thankless job and one I would never want (because I know I cant keep my mouth shut). So just for the record let me thank all the Sysops for remaining unbiased in these matters.
