There is no automation interface to OutlookExpress - if you want to use the Outlook automation model, you need Outlook 97, Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000, or you need to use one of the non-Outlook-specific interfaces such as MSMAPI, which are not as simple or quite as fully-featured as Outlook.
