Well I tried it too in both versions, and it worked. However, I DO know we had trouble on a VFP5 app with this particular problem. As I said, in retrospect I wonder if it could have been a scoping problem, but I don't have that particular app available here to check (source code is 3000 miles East). But least I won't be misleading anyone else. Thanks again.
