Michael,
Hi.. I was wondering if you or anyone else might have some general advice on a SQL + Internet security issue.
Essentially, what are the general pitfalls to look out for if one would like to make a database available over the Internet to a specific group (or groups) of people? I'd like for each to be able to user Enterprise Manager to manage their own data but no one else's. Eventually I could have a couple hundred different group, each of whom I'd like to give localized SA authority, if that's possible. Or perhaps a subset of SA, but only for their own data?
I figure that I'll need to be real careful on passwords & permissions but I can't see why this couldn't be done.
Have you ever done this? If so, where might I go to gat the best tutorial or writeup on how best to proceed and how to be as absolutely secure as possible in doing this?
Thanks a bunch in advance everyone!
Best,
DD
