To set the record straight.........

1) I had no idea that VB had caught up with VFP so dramatically in the last few versions. I thought it was a safe bet. Live and learn.

2) I admitted I was wrong after a while. Karl will vouch for this.

3) Since when do our private phone conversations become public posts?

4) I got hit up with a technical emergency that kept me out of town for over two weeks right when the challenge started and wholly unable to devote time to writing sample code. And I let everyone know about it....

5) The battle was fought and lost. But at least battle was joined. Where were you in all this? Lurking; waiting to see what happened so you could make snide comments one way or the other?

6) My pride is not hurt. I was surprised at the results but I'm not personally responsible for VFP benchmarks so it's not a pride issue.

7) All issues of my discussions with Nancy aside, WTF are you to tell me to lay off anyone? You telling me to lay off of anyone is hypocritical in the extreme.

Karl Peterson not only met your challenge, he crammed it in sideways. Worst of all, you let challenge die on the vine, without standing up like a man and admitting you were wrong. I told you on the phone that you did not form your challenge all that well. They laid a trap for you, and you fell right in.
