I've been charged many times, since the early 60s, to develope new training programs, write training manuals, etc. from scratch. If "Real World Experience" would have been a prerequisite.....well, you know...

Take the 70s when the microprocessor chips started to appear. I couldn't believe manufacturers where putting all that circuitry on that tiny chip, but, I found myself developing and teaching courses on it by 1976.

Sometimes "Real World Circumstances" are more important than "Real World Experience".
