Doug,

I agree that Foxpro will continue to provide cool stuff for a little while. However, it is apparent that the next gen stuff ends up in VB first. As it is, new corporate development, in MS shops, is almost totally in VB. As a matter of fact, I keep watch of the LA Times classified. VFP ads have gone from 5-8 on Sun to 0-1. Of course, I've seen several for the LA area on Dice.com. So there might be a paradigm shift there also, as recruiters try to get their ads to a more national audience.

As far as using the Internet as a network, I do some of that now, as some of my data is remote. I know that Rick Strahl has talked about the Internet as a network for some time. I intend on seeing him speak on this topic in New Orleans.

I contend that thinking in this fashion turns the whole (gack I hate this next word but it fits) "paradigm" on it's head and will open the flood gates to a whole new generation of applications.
