The thing is, you _don't_ see the sort of threads on the OR on the tech groups. If something starts degenerating, it gets promptly moved off the tech groups into the Off.Ramp. That keeps the tech groups with a high s/n ratio, and the people who want to read the OR can, and the people who don't want to don't have to.
