Hi oRox --

>>I think it's high time I introduced myself < smirk >

>Sounds mighty inviting.

you might want to reserve that comment until you know me better ;)
<<

Nah, I seen you comin'. But I'll take ya up on that, anyway, if the offer's still valid?

>>
>Heard y'all thought me and some of my buds were "asswipes" and thought I'd at least pop in to see how much things had changed around here. Last time I came by, such language was a definite no-no. But, I guess having folks like Koziol running the joint changed some of that, eh?

Actually, I woudnt give Koziol all the credit, he's too passive to deserve it. I prefer to think that it's either A) a pleasant side effect of the forums here maturing with increased traffic OR B) osmosis from a combination of brutally honest types like JVP, Ed Rauh, I guess myself included, and others.
<<

Good to hear! About damn time, I'd say. <g> This place was *absolutely* the most anal-retentive dive on the 'net last time I swung by. Well, okay, to be fair, it was pretty much a virtual tie between here and the borland.delphi.* hierarchy.

>< bigger smirk > No offense intended, but you had that coming ;)

>Keep it comin', oRox! ;-)

ahhhhh yes, now that's what I like to hear! Nothing better than a smart ass who can respect likewise talent LOL!
<<

:-)

I'm not up on the protocol buzznyms, is NNTP newsgroups?
<<

Yep. (Network News Transport Protocol.)

>>
And I've been lurking on DevX for quite awhile.
<<

Kewl.

>>
Interestingly enough, I'm not active over there because I cant quite figure out how to navigate around the browser based forums.
<<

Web forums suck. No doubt about it!

>>
Plus too I recently set up a new notebook with NT4 and Outlook2000 and havent figured out how to get my favorite newsgroups (like the OffRamp) configured in native Outlook as opposed to having to revert to Outlook Express,
<<

Ah, yeah, that would be a problem, alright. Outlook doesn't "do" news. Just mail. You can either swallow real hard (you can do that, right, oRox?) and use OE, or grab a copy of Agent or Gravity instead.

Actually, he's even more wrong because we can safely assume everything he claims to have said is not as as advertised ;)
<<

Heh, been burned before, have you? <g>

Later... Karl
