Add NOWAIT to the modi file. You can go into a low overhead wait loop waiting for the window to be closed if you have to stay modal for some reason.

>MODIFY FILE stops execution until you exit the editing window. You have no chance to do a MODIFY WINDOW 'after' MODIFY FILE.
