One of the areas that I personally think that many VFP programmers are lacking in is and understanding of what goes on "under the hood". Unfortunately, except for sporadic articles, FPA rarely addresses this topic.

More and more features are only available via COM, not via a procedural API. Advisor must take this into account and print more about COM, not more about API development. In fact, Advisor Answer more and more deals with COM technologies.

Christof,

"Under the hood" stuff. Unfortunately, I think that, in general, the VFP community could use more of an understanding of the relationship between their VFP applications and the OS. People would save themselves a lot of headaches in not trying to do the things they can't and not chasing down problems that actually had little or nothing to do with VFP. If I were so hazard a WAG here (which might get me crucified, BTW) I'd guess that the VB community probably understands this subject much better than the VFP community.
George
