>>>>>An application (.EXE) when installed in a workstation gets a error message that 'CTL3D32.DLL' is not installed properly. I installed the app using setup.exe created with Setup Wizard. I've tried reinstalling several times but same error appears. The file CTL3D32.DLL is in the Windows System subdir and appear to have installed during setup but... How do I "properly" install this DLL? Also, what is the best installation method for application where data files are to be installed in a file server and only the app in all the workstations.

>>>I'm using VFP 3.0. I don't know if .0a or .0b (the version date is June 21,1995). The strange thing is, this is the second VFP app that I installed in this particular workstation and the first app didn't have this problem until I installed the second app. Now I have this problem when I try to start either app. What gives?

>U are using VFP 3.0. 3.0b has a date of Dec. 15, 1995. Check the MS KB. I remember seeing atricles related to problems with the Setup Wizard for 3.0. That is why they had a new release of the Setup Wizard that was added for 3.0b. If you download the Setup Wizard from the MS KB, I don't know if it will work with 3.0. I believe it is designed to interact with 3.0b.

>Any chance you can upgrade to VFP 3.0b? I'm not even sure you will be able to at this point due to product availability. Consider upgrading to 5.0??? htwh Steve
I would more than like to upgrade to 5.0 but my company's workstations are mix of DOS, Win3.1 and Win95 and I know 5.0 only works with Win95. Until my company upgrades all those DOS machines to Windows environment (it couldn't be soon enough for me!) I'm stuck at 3.0 at best. Anyway, does anybody know how to "manually" setup a DLL in Windows 3.1? Do I have to fiddle with registry or something? I couldn't find any settings in the registry corresponding to this particular DLL.
It's "my" world. You're just living in it.
