>I think I know what my problem is... It sounds as if you've contacted FPA before and I've no idea at all when and where this was. If your contact was directly with Advisor, this would explain it, because Advisor has no official presence on the UT, and CE's like myself work more like a contractor for Advisor. I don't get mail you sent to Advisor if it doesn't refer to one of my articles. If your message was on the UT, it's probable that I missed it. My recent presence here is more caused by JVP's bunch of messages. I did my regular check on certain keywords and found that "Advisor" returned way more hits than the last time I checked, and all referred to the same thread.

Christof, I don't think we're getting anywhere with this. An error occurred in the editorial review of the Tips, for whatever reason. It should have been caught. I agree with George Tasker, when Steve ran the column, it would have been caught.

I don't want to debate content of the magazine. I recognize that FPA sees the FPD/FPW developer as a part of their marketplace. That's not me. That FPA does not do more to encourage the abandonment of the FPD/FPW environment is, IMO, a mistake, brought on in part by the number of people reading FPA who don't want to hear that they need to change platforms. You, speaking your mind without representing FPA, don't address the question of how much longer will FPA continue to address a significant part of their content to non-VFP/VS topics, and fail to answer my question - when will FPA risk offending the readership still stuck coding like they did in 1992 with the statement that they're now developing in the year 2000.

I value your insights and contributions, but your personal insights do nothing to answer my questions regarding whether or not the subscription should be considered for renewal when that becomes an issue in 6 months. For now, my view of the immediate value of FPA in helping evaluate the VFP development environment and build my skills as a developer is best summarized by the fact that it sat in the house still shrink-wrapped for several days after it arrived.

Thanks for your contributions both to FPA and more importantly to the VFP community. I appreciate the difficult position you're in sitting between the official FPA editorial staff, the people who could address my concerns if it mattered to them, and someone like me who has already stated that I have an issue with the present format of the magazine.
