Unfortunately I have had many problems finding good reading on the topic. A lot of my knowledge comes from personal meddlings, and reading the advice of other prgrammers here on universal thread. A book which is out of print, but my manager recently found at a bookstore in Texas (on a business trip) is a book on Writing Word Macros (It's called "Word macros" or "Writing Word Macros" or something like that) by O'Reilly and Steven Roman. I have a book by the same author called "Writing Excel Macros" which offers similar help for excel. Although it doesn't directly address automation, it does teach you about the Object Heirarchy of Word, and what properties and methods exist for each object.

Another good resource is to look in the object browser inside of the VBA editor that is built into word. (Press Alt-F11 to enter VBA editor then F2 to enter Object browser) The syntax often needs some tweeking to change from VBA to FoxPro, but it just takes some learning.

Good luck in this field. It sure is a fun thing to be learning!
