Sometime ago, I post a message asking for thoughts on what to show during a 10-15 minute presentation on VFP here in Salt Lake City. Well, the presentation went off today without a problem. Here's what I presented:

Powerpoint slides (available soon on my web site) that discussed the future of VFP, some of the technologies that migrated from VFP to other MS products (ADO and Rushmore) and that VFP is not the FP2.x of old.

I then demoed the following:

- Text manipulation. I did this in the command window and explained why the command window is a great feature.

- Macro substitution, that then did Automation to Word.

- Calling a VFP COM object from a web page. The VFP COM object then returns a ADO record set. Thanks to JVP for this!

After the seminar, MS asked me to do regular presentations on developer subjects here in SLC. This will be anything of interest to developers, not specifically VFP (but you can bet, I'll do a little VFP here and there). I will be doing these presentations twice a month, each seminar about 3 hours. First one will be late May to early June time frame. I pretty much need to come up with the topics and create my own presentations.
