First, I agree with all the facts that Phil wrote in the previous message.
Don't forget that MSDE is a subset of MS SQL Server 7.0. Both share the same core. Both have the same service packs. MSDE is, like Phil said, to use when you have about up to 5 users.
So, if MSDE didn't recieved glowing reports at SQL2TheMax, what about SQL Server? I hate comparing products (VFP, Access, SQL Server, MSDE, ...) because there isn't a single product that is the best in every solution!!!
