Actually, if you read the Hardware and Software recommendations section, you'll see that I run NT on all my machines. In a one-person shop, running one OS is easier. Ted does (or did, then) run 98 on a notebook and NT on his desk. Can't say for sure what Doug (our Tech Editor) was running.

Did all three of us test every item that went into the book? No. Did I test everything I wrote? Yes. Did Ted test everything he wrote? Yes. Did Doug test everything either of us wrote? I can't say, but I doubt it. I imagine he tested anything that was to be included as a download or inline code and anything that caught his eye as questionable when he read it. He certainly raised plenty of issues with us (as we did with each other). FWIW, very few of them were OS-related.
